An instructor will give the written exam, which covers information from all 10 chapters studied over the course of the classes. After this is done, they will take a written exam. The rest of the hours can be completed by retaking chapters, or by spending time in the lab studying, practicing speed, and drink mixing. This ensures that all categories are covered to the fullest extent. Students must attend one class for every chapter, in order to graduate. Students spend the last half of class mixing mock drinks, testing their speed, and memorizing recipes. To get students prepared for real world experience, the mock bar contains everything that a real bar has. The lab takes place in a state-of-the-art mock bar. After this, the students participate in the practical portion of the class. During the lecture, the teacher will explain the information in the chapter to you, and demonstrate any necessary skills needed to fully understand the material. Each class is divided into two parts, a lecture and lab time. Instructors cover the information in 10 chapters, or modules, during these classes. Classesīartender Certification in the state of California requires a total of 40 class hours. Managers will help set up a payment plan if needed.
